The E3ZR-C Oil-Resistant Photoelectric Sensor is engineered to deliver maximum resistance to aggressive cutting oils commonly found in machining, metalworking, and CNC environments. Unlike conventional sensors, the E3ZR-C eliminates oil ingress from every possible path—cables, joints, moving sections, and material interfaces.

To achieve this, OMRON applies a multi-layer protection concept using fluororesin cable sheaths, a patented rubber compound combining HNBR and fluororubber, and advanced laser-weld sealing technology. Fluororesin prevents cable swelling and deterioration, while the new rubber material resists both oil penetration and long-term degradation at joints and moving sections.

Laser welding fuses metal components without adhesives, eliminating microscopic gaps that typically allow oil ingress. A unique mechanical seal structure compresses a fluorinated bushing around the cable lead, fully blocking oil entry at the most vulnerable point.

The E3ZR-C lineup supports through-beam, retro-reflective with MSR, and diffuse-reflective sensing, with Light-ON and Dark-ON modes, Smartclick M12 connectors, and sensing distances up to 30 m. This makes the E3ZR-C ideal for machine tools, transfer lines, and oil-saturated automation environments requiring long-term reliability.
